In its latest major update, the Honda CBR150R looks as aggressive as the Honda CBR250RR. More importantly, it gets a more premium Showa SFF-BP inverted front fork and a rear mono shock. Interestingly, apart from providing a more sophisticated damping, the front fork isn’t pre-load-adjustable like the telescopic fork in its predecessor.

Other than this, the bike also features a six-speed transmission with an assist-and-slipper clutch. The assist function is claimed to reduce the lever effort by 15 per cent whereas the slipper clutch prevents the rear wheel from locking up during hard downshifts.

That said, the engine is still the same 149.16cc DOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit as before. It churns out the same 17.1PS at 9000rpm and 14.4Nm at 7000rpm. The bike comes with dual-channel ABS as an optional variant in markets abroad, but if Honda launches the bike here, it will get ABS as standard. The bike primarily rivals the Yamaha R15 V4.
